The goal of the Worship Ministry at Calvary Restore is to, above all else, glorify God. Through singing and instrumentation, we strive to emphasize and praise all attributes of the God we serve, placing our focus on the sacrifice of the cross and the grace and mercy of God that extend from Jesus’s incarnation, death, and resurrection. We believe that each member of the team is simply a vessel to be used for God’s glory and honor, and that our talents and abilities are gifts from God that we have a responsibility to use for His service and ministry.
Luke 7:37-38 says: “And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with fragrant oil.” These verses sum up the heart behind Calvary Restore’s Worship Ministry. We want our worship to be an intimate offering poured out onto the feet of Jesus, just as the woman poured out her oil and tears on His feet as an act of worship. We believe that He alone is worthy to be praised, and that praise requires genuine sacrifice and a realization of our need for His grace and forgiveness. Our corporate worship is a weekly expression of this deep need and desire for God, and a way to celebrate and glorify all the goodness of His character.
